    Hey Graham

New user here, just signed up. Where should I start out here. Logic is installed and functional. I’ve recorded a few sessions but would like to see vids right from square 1 so I can be sure I’m doing everything right and not taking shortcuts. Thanks man
    Jeff

    • Welcome, Jeff! What’s square 1 for you? Audio, MIDI, recording, mixing? For now, check out our site search (upper right) and our tags (lower right). We’re also developing a wiki index of all our videos. You should hear about that soon. And you might want to follow our Beginner Series.

Now THAT was a bit of a vauge question, sorry. I’m running Logic on an Apogee Ensemble and have a Presonus Octopre tied in with the Ensemble for additional tracks. I also have 2 Avalon SP 737’s tied in as well. I’m recording tracks fine and finding my way around Logic kinda ok at the moment. Right now I’m trying to figure out how to take an audio loop, say an acoustic guitar, drag it out on to a track, then make a say 3 chord arrangement. I can change the key of the loop from the key it is shown in when I’m sampling it, then when I drag it out on to a track, it retains the same key it was shown it. If I want to make an arrangement in a 3 chord progession, I guess I’ll have to pitchshift up or down? I”ve tried that but the guitar then comes off as sounding a little wonky. Can you point me in a direction here so I can read up on that? Thanks a lot

    • No worries! Questions usually start out big and vague and then get narrowed down. If you knew exactly what to ask, you probably wouldn’t have a question. ;)

Check your email. Just replied to you so we can keep this thread on topic with the post. Cheers!

  4. Ra'mar Leach says:

I know I’m late on this but I actually have the same question as Jeff McIntosh has….about dragging a loop onto track and making a three chord arrangement from it. I would love to learn how to do this please and thank you.
