Logic Pro and MainStage get de-bundled and moved to the App Store.
Logic Pro gets updated to 9.1.6 and can be purchased for $199.99 in the App Store. The update is free to current Logic Pro owners.
MainStage gets updated to 2.2 and can be purchased for $29.99 in the App Store. This is a paid update.
While the Logic Pro update is mainly bug fixes, MainStage actually gets new features. Tell us what you think of the changes in the comments!

I think they made a great choice by changing the price and making it more accessible to more musicians, also really like that I can install only the loops and instruments I need.
Good work Apple.
I totally agree. That 4+ hour DVD install could be brutal.
Also, MainStage is only 30 bucks and gives you access to the same instruments and loops as Logic Pro. Talk about a no-brainer purchase!
I think for me 2012 is the year to finally use main stage on the “main stage” I want to have main stage mixed in to my guitar rig of the stacks of guitar pedals, amps and guitars.
I need to go through your main stage tutorials soon.
Maybe putting it into the App Store finally means a new version is coming. We heard rumors about Apple redoing the work because of the problems people had with the simplified Final Cut Pro X release. Do you think we will have some new informations on Logic X at NAMM 2012?
I don’t think we can compare any new release of Logic Pro to the Final Cut Pro X release. We already had our major overhaul with LP8 and it went smoothly. But if we see anything at NAMM, we’ll report it. We’ll be there.
