You'll still need some sort of preamp to get the volume of mic hot enough to record. If it's just vocals you need to record, try a USB mic like something by Blue. Check Craig's List and you'll probably find something inexpensive. If you need to record other audio, like electric guitars or keyboards, you'll probably want to find an interface that has a built-in preamp for mics and a stereo input for keys or guitar.
