Audio to Score

Jump to navigationJump to searchThis function creates a MIDI region that directly corresponds to the selected monophonic audio. To use this function, select the destination software instrument or MIDI track, select the audio region in the sample editor to be "scored", then select Factory > Audio to Score. From there, the options are:
- Preset - predefined settings with self-explanatory names
- Granulation - establishes the threshold past which transients are considered new notes (NOTE: settings between 50 - 200ms are often most effective)
- Attack Range - use short settings for percussive instruments and longer settings for instruments with longer attack phases
- Smooth Release - use this setting for sounds affected by reverb or that have long releases
- Velocity Threshold - sounds below the set threshold are ignored
- Minimum Quality - Normal is tolerant of less than perfect intonation; High recognizes only clearly identifiable pitches
- Time Correction - used to compensation for time delays caused by external sources
