Recording Multiple MIDI Takes

Recording Multiple takes is an useful function. It is commonly utilized in situations where the "perfect take" is chosen is from a variety, such as a solo.

Multiple takes over the same region can be recorded by:

  1. Choosing File > Project Settings > Recording, or more simply by Control-clicking (or right-clicking) the Record button in the Transport bar and choosing Recording Settings
  2. Under the MIDI Overlapping Recordings select "Create take folders"
  3. Enable Cycle mode by clicking the Cycle button in the Transport bar or utilizing the C key command.
  4. Set the start and cycle locators in the Transport bar, or drag the left and right locators in the Bar ruler of the Arrange Window.
  5. Start and stop the recording process as previously described.

The take folder can be opened by clicking the the triangle in the top-left corner of the take folder, or by double-clicking it.
