The Bounce Window

The Bounce Window is opened by selecting File > Bounce. Also the Bounce button on the desired output channel strip may be used.

Within that window the desired output format is selected:

  • PCM
  • MP3
  • M4A (AAC file)
  • CDDA (burn to CD)


The Start and End fields allow for the Bounce range to be set.

Bounces can either happen in Realtime or Offline. Realtime must be used if any external devices are being used (e.g., an external MIDI device, audio processor). Otherwise, Offline should be used as it's faster.

Bounce 2nd Cycle Pass will render two repetitions of the selected range when in Cycle mode.

Include Audio Tail ensures all audio is captured at the end, for instance, a lingering reverb.

Finally, there are a few Normalize options:

  • Off
  • Overload Protection Only - only normalizes audio that exceeds 0 db.
  • On - all audio is increased proportionally so that the track's loudest point hits 0 db.
